Sebastian Tuna 12 Hour Expedition to the Gulf Stream and the Other Side

12 hours 30-70 miles offshore the Treasure Coast and Vero Beach area trolling the blue Gulf Stream for blackfin tuna , skipjack tuna , yellowfin tuna, king mackerel, wahoo, dolphin/ mahi mahi, sailfish, white marlin and blue marlin.

Please bring plenty of water, food, snack, sunglasses, big hat and sunscreen as we can troll the Gulf Stream, weed lines, rips and chase the birds with our radar all the way to the EEZ and the Other Side.

EEZ is half way between Sebastian Inlet and Bahamian shore

*On these trips we take an extra fuel barrel.

We troll with rigged ballyhoo (Naked and on lures), deep diving plugs (Nomads DTX), wide tracking spreader bars, tuna feathers, cedar plugs, high speed wahoo gear and huge marlin lures.

Let us know if you want to try to target a certain species or a variety so we customize the spread.

We use 30 to 50 pound two speed reels with a few spinners and jigging rods incase we come across some light tackle opportunities for wahoo, mahi or tuna busting on the surface.

Best months are May through October and the key is finding the right water clarity and temperatures. We do use satellite imagery and charts.

Fish species encountered offshore Melbourne and Vero Beach Canyons include: skipjack tuna, Bonita, blackfin tuna, yellowfin tuna, barracudas, big eye tuna, Mako sharks, swordfish, thresher sharks, wahoo, king mackerel, mahi mahi , sailfish, white marlin and blue marlin.

This trip is for more experience or adventurous type people.

They are long, hot and if we find the schools very demanding.
